good combination?

I currently have a samsung le32r74 and am thinking about selling it and getting a BenQ FP241W

It will work fine, but the image is cropped at 1080p so you lose some of the image on all 4 sides as shown. Its not much, but you lose the browsing in the ps3 browser (if you need to see the url).

i also have the ps3 hooked up to my benq fp241w via hdmi running at 1080p aspect mode. i dont have any cropping for some reason. i got my screen about a month ago if thats any help. sorry about the quality of the picture, taken on phone camera

Im using HDMI - Aspect, but 1:1 is the same, Monitor is a almost 3 weeks old baught from OCUK when is was on special offer. maybe special price was to shift price of old firmware monitors .. well played ocuk.....well played ..

Think I might have to borrow a mate's PS3 and see how it behaves. Mine is a black Z version of the monitor bought about a month ago. I'll post a photo when I get chance.

Been playing with monitor and ps3 settings and it seems the hdmi is cropping the ps3 image in all resolutions

(720p,1080i,1080p) this happens even in 1:1 mode so i dont think the scaler is doing it :|

BenQ will pickup ** monitor and update it to turn off overscanning, see the hardforum thread for more details.

I would like to know of the new batch of W monitors at ocuk already have the latest firmware that suppors sensye and turning off overscan?

i asked about it, and they told me there is no update that their aware of and that the forced overscan was intentional to match tv's ! ill up another pic to show how much has been cut off (as its perfect on dvi). as there is even some screen area not shown in mofei1s image (although it fine as buttons are not cut offscreen).

they told me on the phone a day or two ago that the firmware upgrade for the 241W is free of charge. They pick up and return within a week. Just give them a phone.
