hi...

I have the BenQ FP241W and i'm using DVI. I'm wanting to manually change the V.Position and H.Position on the monitor menu, but it just says auto adjustment and wont let me change it manually. If i use VGA however, it will let me change it no problem. The reason why i want to adjust it, a few games i play aren't adjusted right for some reason.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

hmm, i don't think i can do it in the drivers, i've checked everywhere, i'm using a nvidia card.

The exact problem i am getting is in games like Flatout 2 and World Of Warcraft, they have this thin line at the top and left of the screen. It wont appear during gameplay, but only in menus and i can see the game behind the menu.. It's not really a problem as it has only appeared in these two games, others are fine. Apart from that the screens works fine without problems.

Has anyone with this monitor experienced this before?

I have the same monitor as you.

What resolution are you playing at and has your monitor got the later firmware on it to do 1:1 pixel mapping? It may be unrelated but....

thanks for the reply. I run all my games at 1920x1200 and mines has the 1:1 pixel mapping. I thought it had something to do with that as well. I also tried playing at a lower resolution, but it was still the same. I emailed Benq and they said that i can't manually change the height and vertical position in DVI mode.

I guess it isnt really a problem since it's only happening in a few games so it's probably just the game's fault. Heres a pic i took, i only took the top corner, but it appears right along the top and left side, but the other two sides are fine.

It only appears in menus, but in world of warcraft it appeared in a video. I can adjust it with VGA and it will display fine, it's just a shame i can't do it with DVI tho, if i could it would be easily sorted.

I get something similar to the on one screen which is the low resolution BF2142 splash screen. The left side and top have a thin red line. When the game goes to full resolution it disappears.

It only happens in BF2142 though. I wouldn't be too fussed about yours if it is just a few games.

I find thats usualy an artifact of using AA in games which dont support aa by default. Its not a show stopper an usualy only noticed on static screens, not main game.

Aha!!....your right, i turned off the AA in flatout 2 and World Of WarCraft and it went away!. How come that happens?.... They don't really need it away, i dont see much difference.

Anyway thanks guys for your help much appreciated.
