Benq G2222HDL - anyone else noticed the 'scanlines' effect?

Hi all,
I've just bought one of these as part of my Christmas rebuild, and I've noticed my current one seems to suffer from what almost appears to be scanlines in the bottom half of the screen. Its more noticeable on a pale, solid background, and quite literally looks as if there is thin, evenly spaced (about 1mm apart), horizontal, slightly darker lines going across, especially in the lower middle part of the screen, which is why I dub this scanlines as it looks very similar.

Now, it's not 'too' obvious, but I can see it clearly enough it's a little annoying, I've seen some mixed info on whether this is a general 'feature' of this screen, or perhaps something that some batches/screens do worse than others, as some people have chocked it down to a fault, some to the downside of LED backlighting, and some to just being slightly cheaper protectors over the backlights, and it looks like I'm not the first to request a replacement for it, but haven't seen much feedback from AFTER replacements.

Just thought I'd see if anyone else with this screen has experienced this, and if so whether they did anything else about it? It's more or less my own real complaint about this monitor for the £100 I paid for it, it's just a shame as this mars whats otherwise pretty reasonable image for a £100 screen with TN!
It does however also seem pretty possible that due to the cost of the screen, the QC just isn't as strong, as it's not something I've seen mentioned in the reviews.

I've noticed this on my 24 inch version, I just put it down to cheap dvi cables getting a little interferance, it's only noticible on certain colours.

Company X are sending me another one to try out :)
I can't put it down to cables as the lines dont move at all and appear to be fixed, suggesting it's not interference, and the cable came from another screen which exhibited no issues :)

hope its not on my benq monitor just ordered one today its reviews said it was very good monitor and at a good price i thought id take a chance hope ive not made the wrong choice :S

This doesn't bode well, I hope I'm not in the same boat"

Do BenQ deal with RMA's direct?

Not a clue, the place I got mine from have sent me a replacement directly and told me to send the other one back once I've recieved the new one which is due in 2/3 days. Will test the new one, if this has the issue I guess I'll have to stump up and spend a little more, which is a shame as it's largely a really nice monitor for £100, nicer than I was expecting, although obviously within reason for it's price :)

I've just recieved my replacement today and managed to take it out of the box.

It seems this one also has the issue, BUT it's less noticeable. The colour balance on this one is a bit different too, even at the same settings it has more of a yellowish tinge, oh well I'm nitpicking now :p This leads me to believe it's somewhat of a feature of this batch at least of the screens, but the severity varies from screen to screen.

I'm gonna give this screen a play for a few days and then see what I feel like doing.

Glad you have brought this to our attention I have been thinking about the 22 screens since about November and this particular model has been in and out of my shopping basket on OC's about six times just can not make my mind up...also if you go to amazon there are three different 22's by Benq all the same price but for a couple of pounds what is the difference in them......

I was also looking at the Asus & the Ilyama which is the make I have at the moment all be it in 17"....they have a fantastic after sales service.....

Mind went wrong after 18 months just went black with no power light, replaced the lead etc and nothing came on here to look for another monitor and found it had a 2 year garrentee so called them up at 9-30am and they daid no problem we will send another out asap so I thought about 2-3 days......1-30pm there was a bang on the door and a courier with a replacement who took one out and put mine in the same box....sorted...

Anyway I digress what is the general feeling is this just a duff batch ?

I have 3 sat here right now one about a year old and the other two are new and none of them have this problem. Does sound like a dodgy batch...
