Thinking of buying this, looks all good and cant knock the 5 stars rating with over 50 reviews. but one question, ive always gone for 2ms response times on my monitors, and this one is 5. my question is how important is this really? is there any situation where you would notice it, this will be used for gaming primarily.

Thanks

Not meaning to put you off the BenQ but do have a quick read through this thread - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18186407. It compares it to the better built Samsung B2430H. As for the reponse time I wouldn't think anything of it. It's just a number that different manufacturers record in different ways. In reality how responsive a monitor is involves a complex mixture of things and much more than just quoted grey-to-grey response times. I have used plenty of panels quoted as 2ms that aren't as responsive as the B2430H (5ms quoted grey to grey).

You will notice no difference in response times between 2 and 5 in fact i know afriend who has the Dell U2310H and that is 8 ms response time and games play great with no ghosting and no difference between a Samsung which is 2ms

Most of the ghosting issues of older screens are down to the image processing engines, rather than the nature of TFTs.

120hz panels further alleviates any bottlenecks raised by low refresh.

It's not perfect but it's getting better.

I have recommended that same BenQ monitor to numerous friends looking for a bargain and all have been very pleased with it. I'm sure you will be very pleased with your purchase. Don't worry about the response time it will be fine. :)
