I reviewed its smaller cousin, the BenQ V920. Some of the issues I experienced were exacerbated by the lower resolution of the V920, but in truth these are budget monitors. Performance is admirable for the price, but don't experct miracles. I don't think the screen on the V2420H is much different to the BenQ G2420HDBL.

hi many thanks i read your indepth review of the smaller model, and frankly im dissapointed, if i had say a £200 budget for a led monitor, what models would you recommend, i dont really want to go over the price point as i want to purchase two.

That's a tough call. Based on the majority praise I'd go for the G2420HDBL - I don't think it can be beaten for the price! The LG E2350V has some real colour balance issues and the V2420H will probably be the most similar panel to the disappointing V920 :). It's also possible you could consider some non LED-backlit monitors from the likes of Samsung. Whilst I know LED backlighting is attractive for several reasons, at this budget it can be a poorly implemented technology.

How bright do you like the image to be when you're using the computer?

well i want to game , but i also make music on my pc, coming from a 47 lcd, i want to be able to see things clear , so i would be using it as bright as i need it to be able to read figures and text.

plus i want to buy 2 , so would a ps3 work on the g2420hdbl maybe a hdmi dvi cable? ? as it does not have a hdmi port?

has benq used the same panel in the g2420hdbl in any of its newer models with hdmi support?

thank you for helping me out

also the led version which is the one im interested in does not have hdcp, does that mean that i will have a hard time to get it to display correctly as i have had bad experiences with hdtv's that were suffering from overscan and a lot of blur.
