BenQ W1070+ any good

now i know its a budget projector but anyone used a BenQ W1070+ for films and gaming at all ?

just toying over my options as my venerable hitachi plasma is coming to the end of its life with the odd screen blotches and psu issues (sometimes wont fire the screen up).

also been looking at sony 55" hdr sets such choices :p
 
not sure now, just seen the new sonys in the flesh albeit in currys and they do look nice.

arrgghhh.
 
What TV's are you looking at? I'm having images in my head of turning a small spare room upstairs into a entertainment room.

Sofa against the wall and a leg rest poof thing, 50+ inch Minimal lag as possible TV against the opposite wall on a long cabinet, PS4 and a small powerful PC somewhere near, Long USB hub and one of those lap tables for my mouse and keyboard.

Alas still a dream.
 
temped by the sony xd9305's 55 or 65 probably have a gander at the local sony place see if i can resist them when they have good content being played on them.

get the feeling after what i saw today a projector would only be a stop gap till next year.
 
Loved mine, used it for hundreds of hours for games and films on 120" screen, awesome stuff!

(past tense because it's in storage currently :()
