Is the BenQ XL2411T the best monitor I will get for the price range of £200/250?
Will be mostly used for gaming and "personal entertainment". I've recently bought a new 42" TV and a new computer on the way... just noticed the current monitor (SyncMaster 920nw) is lagging behind, so will end up using it rotated has a second monitor.

I don't get paid for another 3/4 weeks so I have a while to decide. And to be honest anything is better than what I've got now. £246.34 isn't that bad a price, I've see the BenQ XL2411T for near enough the same price, so if BenQ XL2420TE is more or less the same monitor with that added bit of tech, why not.
What have you been considering mate? I don't want something to big, something between 24/26 inches will suit me perfectly.

My apologies, if I've given you the impression that I know what I'm talking about, I just happen to have the same dilemma, I want to buy the BenQ XL2411T but there might be something better just around the corner.

E.G the BL2411PT http://benq.co.uk/product/monitor/bl2411pt is technically a better monitor being an IPS monitor than bouth of the above, but there is a greater lag of just 0.8 and with no 3D anabled light boost tech.

I'm stumped, probably best just buying the BenQ XL2411T as it's so well rated?

Hmmmm, its a good monitor, but I think I will probably end up getting the XL2411T then. I'd prefer less lag than screen flicker, I hardly notice any screen flicker has it is and my current monitor is 6+ years old. But has I say, still got 3 or 4 weeks till I get paid :D

So annoyed at my BenQ XL2411T.

Red artifacts type things everywhere in anything above 60hz after less than a month of ownership :(

Pretty average monitors for colours though to be honest but fantastic from a responsiveness point of view.

Well send it back if you're getting red artifacts, I've had mine for months now and not once I have noticed this.

Ah yes I will have to send it back :) they are appearing everywhere (generally covering maybe 20% of the screen in random locations) in 120hz + 144hz yet on 60hz its not happening.

Just getting round to it!

The Benq XL2420TE mentioned above will be in the £300-£350 price range.

What kind of games do you play and how do you play them? A good IPS display may be better if you're a casual/slow gamer.

bobert50 - sounds more like a graphics card issue. A higher refresh rate will be placing higher load.

I will probably mostly be playing BF4 and a few MMOs I am leaning more towards an IPS screen, prefer a 0.5 or below ms

Also 250 is my limit, anything above is stretching it sadly, wish I had that kind of money. Maybe I'll find a bag of it on the way home :D

This monitor is awesome for gaming, had mine about 8 months and it's been fine. It does flicker a bit though, but it only seems to be noticeable with certain colours.

The 120Hz smoothness is really fantastic, but don't expect anything great in the way of colours though. With my monitor, it's really noticeable on shades of blue (if you look at a blue gradient square, the upper-right corner merges into a single visible shade).
