hi would it be possible to get 144mhz using the BenQ XL2411Z and the MSI GeForce GTX 760 OC Gaming Edition graphics card. any help would be great

144MHz is not possible on any monitor.

144Hz is perfectly attainable on the MSI GTX 760 OC and XL2411Z using Dual-Link DVI. A Dual-Link DVI cable is supplied with the monitor.

Thanks for the reply just noticed what I put lol. do u think the BenQ XL2411Z will be a good option for a gaming monitor?

I currently have the old BenQ monitor - XL24IIT 144HZ Monitor and it is cracking for a gaming monitor. Noticed the difference straight away. Smoother , Faster and generally better.

Yes, I've tested the XL2420Z that is very similar and it is great for smooth fast-paced gameplay.
