Not seen a thread on this so please delete if there is one,

Just found out recently BenQ are finally releasing a new gaming monitor with a new design.

BenQ XL2430T

Never been a fan of the S-Switch in the current models but the new implementation seems a lot better, all with an aluminium coated stand.

Doesn't seem like an upgrade from the current line, more of a tweaked version.

Not heard anything on planned release date.

Finally fixed the few problems the xl24 had, lack of displayport and those silly buttons stuck out at the bottom preventing seamless 3240X1920 surround, doubt ill be upgrading but at least they have fixed it

There is also the XL2420G which has almost all the same features as the XL2430T plus a G-Sync module.

I found this part of the spec/features interesting...
Wonder if it's just a marketing thing or an actual benefit.

Low Blue Light as Eye Safety Precautionary Measure

Practice long hours with clear, comfortable vision or compete with top-notch vision condition with BenQ’s new Low Blue Light. The blue spectrum light, which is produced by regular computer screens, is a critical cause of eye damage, eyestrain, headaches and sleeping disorders. Now with the offering of various adjustable low blue light levels, gamers can better protect their eyes. So there would be no need for yellow tinted eyeglasses for additional eye protection, and gameplay can be clear, comfortable and hassle-free!

You're thinking of the XL2411T/Z which lacked DisplayPort and had buttons at the bottom. The XL2420T/Z had no such issues. I do like the new design though!

As for the 'Low Blue Light' thing, it's been on the XL2420Z and XL2411Z as well. It does serve a function but it's nothing you can't achieve on monitors by simply lowering the blue colour channel (or using a 'Reading Mode', 'Paper Mode', 'Warm2' etc. depending on the monitor). I have a detailed scientific analysis of the 'danger' (or lack thereof) of blue light from monitors on my forum and feel that BenQ have gone a bit far with their scaremongering on this one. I do see its utility in the evening, though, where blue light should be reduced as to avoid disrupting your natural sleep cycle. Some users do find it more comfortable (are sensitive to blue light) during prolonged use as well, but don't read too much into the whole 'eye damage' thing.

So it's not complete rubbish they're saying just stressing the point too much.

Hopefully the colour reproduction is half decent as I'm tempted to get a XL2420G.

That's g-sync, this is not.

Ah, yeah. I was viewing the benq's as a comparison on their site and got mixed up.

That's an awfully high price for a non IPS or g-sync TN monitor.

Any word on what the XL2420G will be coming in at then? As g-sync appears to be adding £100 or so to the price of monitors.

BenQ G-Sync is October time, right now they need to sort pricing on current models, they are being destroyed by their competitors. AOC are absolutely cleaning up selling nearly 1000 AOC 144Hz monitors a month now.

I'm quite tempted by the AOC g-sync monitor, but haven't been able to confirm it has a flicker free backlight (as that's something I require)

With any luck new g-sync version will look like the above.very much liking the look of the new style.
am surprised asus aren't doing a 27-24 inch 1080p g-sync versions.(exluding the addin modules versions)

The G-SYNC versions (XL2420G/XL2420G) are already known to look like the previous '20' series. Of course an XL2430G is possible for the future, but that's not what they're launching in October.
