Currently looking at a new monitor for gaming. Not really having a budget in mind and an impulse buy I just want to know the benefit of G-Sync over a non?

I was watching kaymind play and he spotted and hit a guy I couldn't even see on my dell 60 Hz screen even at high quality. I'm thinking it is my monitor rather than my eyesight?

I've taken a look on what he uses and not sure if it outdated but find a lot of pro players use the same monitors that are not g-sync enabled? XL2411P or XL2430.

Will I see further distances better splashing out on a £200-£300 monitor for more FPS?

Definitely, but bear in mind that different maps might require different settings. Because they are all completely different in terms of colors and the experience might not be the same. I use zowie xl2546 and have different settings for each map so in the beginning of the game, I switch between profiles based on the map. But I think you can find something in between that would work :)

Yeah I was looking at the XL2430 which can do that and also hang my heatset up :D

From a quick look at that video it seems the video capture rate and encoding are the problem more than the monitor - he is initially visible as some rippling pixels while on the actual screen was probably showing the actual player model.

That's reasssuring but I do struggle to see people that others I play with don't

Back in the day (in that period where CRTs were phasing out but TFTs were still in their infancy) I was one of the earliest adopters of 120Hz while most people were playing on slow 60Hz panels - not to diminish the skill element but it was easy going to silly scores like 50-3 in Call of Duty multiplayer in those circumstances.

I went through a period with those BenQ XL2xxx monitors but I wouldn't go back to them personally - the backlight hue I didn't like personally and having G-Sync is a bigger advantage IMO even though some of them are technically a bit faster panels. (Also Asus and BenQ/Zowie heavily sponsor some of those pro players so they tend to use that gear - when other brands have equivalent or in some cases better offerings for instance the Dell S2716DG is generally equal to or superior to the Asus PG278Q let alone the PG279Q for pure gaming use).

Thats a little out of my price range though lol
