Bent CPU Pin - Should this be there?

Hi, I have a X2 5600+ which appears to have a bent pin (just the one). I am not sure as to whether it is supposed to be like this although it is literally just one pin that is completely horizontal.

I am assuming that it shouldn't, but just in case, should this be there? I will try and get some pictures.

Also, is there a way to fix this?

No, it's not supposed to be like that. You can try bending it back by carefully grabbing the pin with tweezers. If it arrived that way from the factory RMA it as you run a small risk of breaking the pin off.

You can try (carefully!) bending the pin back. But as marc said, if it's new, I'd recommend getting a replacement.

If it is an AM2 send it this way if you don't wanna do it ;) I will do it for you.

As above just be careful and do it slow.

If it's new I would just RMA it, it must have been damaged some how. It could just snap or you could bend another pin by trying to repair it.

I used a hairdryer to heat the pin(s) up using a focussed nozzle before straightening the bent pins with a pair of tweezers. Just take it real slow else the pin will break off.
