bent cpu pins

i bought a cpu about a year and a somewhat ago and recently tried to remove it and sell it due to an upgrade. but the cpu was stuck solid to the heatsink i think there was thermal pad used between them and when i tried removing the heatsink it bent all the pins on the cpu anyways just wanted to see if i could call overclockers and see if i would be able to get the cpu repaired or somthing. still have reciept and everything.

LOL oh God almost broke one of the pins whilst trying to straighten it. theres just too many bent ones. take a look LOL im such a prat.

I do not think anyone will pay attention to your request in case you decide to send it back for repair.

You could borrow a gap measuring device (the one they use in the garages to measure the gap between the valves) and with this you should be able to straighten the pins. Make sure that you do not bend them too much or they could be snapped out. You do not have to go to a garage to get one of these, they could be found in any decent DIY set. You could also try a credit card, but it only helps if you have problem with the pins at the edges.

cheers mate ill try that, tried it with tweezers and almost snapped a pin off but ill give it a shot with the gap measuring device. The only reason i assumed that it might be repaired is because when i purchased the cpu they said it comes with lifetime warranty not sure if bent pins are covered by warranty

just called up overclockers and they told me to take it into the jewlers and ask them to repair it for me. (heading towards jewlers now)

got it fixed and all straighten up . FYI jewelers look at you funny when ask them and tell you that they wont fix computer chips. LOL i had to do it with a credit card LOL an it worked im soo happy.

So what the Jewler didn't do it for you?

jewlers said they dont do these kind of things. i think he was scared he might break it.
