Been using my microsoft intelli optical mouse for awhile and i haven't really noticed till recently that due to my little finger hanging over the mouse with extended usage. It isn't as straight as my left hand little finger and im concerned that if i don't do something i'll have my little finger in a hook posisition as i get older.

What mouse can i get where my little finger doesn't hook over?

I doubt you'll find a mouse big enough to compensate but there are other options. This is gonna sound funny but go to a auto store and pick up a small tube of bondo(body filler) and a can of decent auto paint that matches the color of your mouse and some sand paper. You can literally mold a "ledge" out of the bondo and letting it harden and sanding it to the shape you need and super gluing it to the side of the mouse.

just experiment with different sized and shaped wedges until ya find a shape that will work and then paint it and glue it to the mouse. Bondo hardens like a rock but is still pretty light and is easy to sand and the hard auto paint with several coats will keep it covered. I know it sounds like a nutty solution but doing this will really allow you to customize that side of the mouse to not only be comfortable but work very well and will be cheap to buy the mats to do it.

FYI I have a mx518 and while its bigger I dont think it will be wide enough to fix your issue.

have ya noticed aswell how if you hold you hands out infront of you with your plams up, how the inner bone on you wrist is pretty large if you feel it? :p is that built up from all these years of computer usage from using it as a pivot point :p i might just be crazy :D hehe

Not here , i've always used a special mouse mat so it keeps my wrists straight... But i ended up with a dodgy finger instead :D

Neil79 and his dodgy finger!

Mate, you mean this..? I've had it for years. Just down to the way i hold the mouse, i dont really "hold" it. Just throw it between my thumb and ring finger and dont use my palm in the slightest.

i hold the mouse between thumb and little finger. first finger on left button, middle finger on the scroll/middle button, ring finger on the right button.

my pinky is straight. but then i try and make sure i stretch out properly after a period of time following one occasion where i pinched the nerve running through my elbow.
