What are they like? anyone had one

possibly looking into the 850w modular one.

Are they quiet? are they a good brand as ive never heard of them until sunday

I'dl like to know as well, can't seem to find any reviews on them - need to be quiet for me, on par with the corsairs.

opted for a BeQuiet DarkPower Pro 650 for my new rig, P5Q-Pro,E8400,4gb,4870,3xHDDs.
One of the main reason for this was the reported power efficiency and I like tryin new brands before they get big and popular and prices go thru the roof.

More than happy with it, PSU itself is V V Quiet, Pretty sure its quieter than my last righ as a whole. The packagaing does exude class, nice warranty is a bonus, the box comes stuffed with a good assortment of cables including what seems to be a PSU adapter for server boards by the look of it, all of the cables have small instructions attached showing the max load and stuff that each cable should have.

The off state cooling is a nice addition too, the fans seem to spin for a good few minutes after everything has been turned off to remove any residual heat from the system, more than welcome function tbh, and nigh on silent when its doing it.

When I spend a decent chunk of cash on something I like it when not only does it sound and perform well for the money but it looks and is packed in a way that also reflects this, even more than when I bought my first expensive PSU (hioer 580 LOL).

Had a couple of mates over and they decided ti have a fiddle witht he new rig, after that they have both opted to go with the same model PSU for their new rigs too.

Damn Nice PSU, if it blows up I'll tell you ;)

And for what do you think you need 850W?

BeQuiet uses at least FSP and ToPower as OEMs.
Few older lowest powered FSP made Straight Powers had some quality/reliability problems: fan failing/too slow RPM and overheating.

Only reliably "noise" reviewed ToPower OEM unit didn't make it to level of best Seasonics in SPCR's test but was still quiet compared to majority of PSUs.
Haven't heard much about their reliability... people here buy known and tried Seasonics/Corsairs made by them.

Enermax Modu/Pro82+ or about anything made by Seasonic have been reviewed to be quiet.
Not all Corsairs are equal, VX550 and TX750 (+HX1000) are mady by CWT instead of Seasonic. (even one magazine whose reviews are kept as half hearted found TX750 noisy)
Fairly sure the one my Antec case came with is a BeQuiet - If so, absolutely no complaints.
If you didn't get separate PSU and case is some of Antec's basic cases then it's Antec PSU.
(and old CWT made Antecs are too quiet and too often fry their low quality Fuhjyyu capacitors)
