Hi All,

A freind of mine has about a hundred pounds to spend on upgrading his pci-e graphics card.

He plays call of duty 4, battlefeild 2092 etc at the moment at 1024x768 on a 19inch monitor (its struggling!).

He'd like to be able to play these games with good frame rates at his monitors native resolution of 1280x1024 with decent quality graphics.

What would be better? An Nvidia 8600GTS, An older ATI x1950 or one of the lower end new ATI cards?

Advice much appreciated!

Thanks,

E-I

As above the HD3850 is your best bet if looking brand new.

The 512mb model is also a better buy than the 256mb model although the 512mb models that are £130+ are not worth it (you may as well pay the extra for a 3870)

Another suggestion if you don't mind second hand is the 8800GTS 320mb if you can find one.
