Best 1156 cooler?

I don't think custom watercooling is for me as I am a complete noob.

I might go with the H50 but have second thoughts of whether air cooling would be better?

£100 you could make your own water cooling loop.

There is nothing to it. Pump, CPU block,Res,Rad. If you have enought room you can loose the Rad and have a BIG res.

The H50 isn't really a good choice any more... .
You will also have to buy 2 fans to runin push-pull set up to get the best out of a h50.
I used to have a h50 but sold it on ebay, due to the limited liability corsair stated on their website and the novilty effect had worn off.
I upgraded to the NH14. It is the best air cooler out there imo. it knocked off 7-8degs off the h50. Downside with the N14 is that it may not fit in your due to the height of your ram or may cover ram slots.
You can check for ram compatibility on manufacturers web site.
The H50 is a bit of a false economy imo.
I wonder how may will fail after a year or two.

It's a shame OCUK don't stock them because in my opinion they are tremendous value for money against the likes of the Prolimatech and the TRUE, considering they already have two excellent fans bundled.

H50 is doing fine in my system in sig max temp i had under 7 hours of Prime95 is under 60c can't complain about that, you only have to look in the H50 thread and see how many think its a great cooler, don't think there is one person said anything negative about it and it comes with one fan already and the push pull some get benefit from others don't.

I had 2x120mm fans spare the cheapest ones on overs site and they are doing a good job on mine, if it lasts me a year that will do as how many use the same cooler for much longer than that anyway, as there will be something better out by then.

Im not saying the H50 its a bad cooler.
But buy the time you buy 2 extra high quality fans you may aswell buy the NH14 especially if you are looking for higher overclocks.
Thats why im saying its a bit of a false economy.

I still don't see the problem with the stock fan that comes with it but if some choose to buy 2 high end fans then when they change cooler they have 2 quality fans to use in there cases or on the new cpu cooler they choose in the future, i certainly wouldn't let fans put me off buying one of these.

Nh-D14, as with helios and the electrician i own one of these and its a fantatic bit of kit, using the ulna adapters the fans are super quiet, and excellent quality.
It is a huge bit of kit but secufirm2 makes installing a breeze, maybe just a tad fiddly connecting the fans to the mobo but it's not like you're going to be installing it all the time. Supplied TIM is very good aswell, excellent price overall for what you get.

Indeed, and using the U.L.N.A adapters doesn't have much of an impact on cooling either. Goes to show how efficient the actual heatsink is.
