I'm looking for a new productivity monitor and have a few requirements - a true 10 bit panel first and foremost as I'm moving into HDR content. Don't care about gaming performance at all, so I guess an IPS panel would suit.
EDIT: It looks like 8 bit + FRC might be all I can afford in this price range Should be fine as long as I look for a wide gamut.
1440p would be my preferred resolution as it has less scaling issues in my creative apps than 4K, which is lucky because I will only have an RTX 3060 driving the panel. I am open to either 16:9 or 21:9 ratios.
Picture-in-picture is essential from a secondary input source. I am currently using a Sony 32" LCD TV (KDL32W700C) as a monitor and it is cool to be able to have TV playing in a corner window. So 27" to 32" probably ideal size, or bigger if it was 21:9.
EDIT: Actually thinking about it, watching TV 21:9 would be terrible with side bars. Which brings up another issue, as TV from my HDMI tuner is native 1080p, will it look ok on a higher resolution LCD or will the upscaling be a chunky mess? I guess that will depend on how well the model handles lower resolutions.
Budget is NZ$2,000+gst or roughly £1,000. I will have a looksie and report back if I find anything but in the mean time any recommendations welcome
