It may not be the most expensive, but that's only because you're getting great value for money. You can't get a 9800M GTX in a 15" laptop, so the best you can get it a 9800M GT, which is quite rare nowadays, and the 9800M GTS is only a tiny step behind in performance. I actually own this laptop and am truely amazed by it's performance. You could buy this and use it for 2-3 years and be completely satisfied, I intend to keep mine for at least 3 years, maybe 4.

In addition, it uses the Clevo chassis, which has superb build quality and the manufacturer has a great track record of reliability and performance. Nothing like dell. I suggest you read into the ODM situation but the above laptop is a great purchase and will offer you great gaming performance, otherwise, you will need to move up to a 17" for a 9800M GTX or SLi configuration, this is due to the thermal limits put on the size of each laptop.

Yup, another vote for the OcUK Ultima Mobile. I've tested it on a few games now and it can handle the likes of C&C3 on absolutely full settings (inc. 8x anti-aliasing) and it doesn't even strain.

yer i have also seen some stuff about laptops with 2 gfx cards in them? is this only the 17"'s?

am i losing a lot in power and spec by going with 15?

also how custom will ocuk go with the laptops i would like a 2nd hard drive over a cd drive stick a ssd for boot drive in there :D and any chance of sli i have been told u can get in laptops now adding us to 1gb of gfx

Yes you can get laptops with 2 x 8800m gtx SLI, but due to the thermal requirements of the cards, they only come in 17" chassis. In a 15" chassis, the best you'll get is a single 8800m gtx or 9800m gt.

In my experience, the sli setup setup performs 70 - 80% faster than than the single chip setup at high res (1680 x 1050 and upwards) and detail.

The 17" laptops are large, thick and they all have very heavy power bricks so they are a pain to carry around. Get a 15" if you intend travelling around with it a lot.

Not sure how much OCUK are willing to customize their range, you'll have to call them.

thanks yer i said 15 to start with as i am planning to carry it with me i have a very big 17" bag at the mo for my 15" laptop and other kit

yer was after some exta bits if they can add them like tv tuner and stuff

I agree with Matt and Chapple the Ultima Mobile is a cracking laptop. Plays the following smoothly on full settings 1680*1050.
Company of Heroes
NWN2
Settlers Rise of an Empire

Also though its not a great game (But Graphically demanding)

Crysis plays smoothly everything on High in DX9*1280*720
have run the Crysis Harbour Benchmark in the Crysis Benchmark Tool (from guru3d.com) at this res and got average of 32.8FPS low was 21.6 high 52.

Should be good for a few years. :)

well depends how much u willing to spend i got p8600 2 gig of ram can add 2 more if need to 250 hdd and 9600gt for 800 euro
