Best 1920x1080 around £150?

Bugger they've reduced the wrong one lol

Typical! Although I will not be buying one until next month, so not much of a problem to me.

Just to confuse things, the Iiyama ProLite B2409HDS has a very good spec. Does anybody know if this would be a better gaming monitor?

Been reading some more reviews / opinions on the S2409W and it does seem to be highly recommended, plus another +1 from Chong Warrior. Response time is said to be pretty good, well good enough for gaming. So it’s looking like the Dell S2409W is the one for me. Just got to wait until next month :(.

If any of you guys get one before me, please post your thoughts.

Ah but is the IPS 22" the better choice even though it's smaller with a lower res, but has a better LCD screen?

AAGghhhhh

The picture quality on the 2209WA is better. If you use Photoshop, then this would be the better choice out of the two. However the S2409W is a good all round monitor.

Well that’s what I have read anyway.

AAGghhhhh indeed.

I still can't decide. :D

How is the position of the Dell 24"? I know its not height adjustable but is it OK to start with?

Also does it support picture in picture, for running the HDMI in a window when using say DVI?

I waited years before moving to a TFT (because of input lag)

The first TFT I bought was a Xerox Xa7 19i (8ms) was £300 at the time, and I read up a lot before getting it. If it wasn't perfect I would have sent it back.

3 years later I've bought this Dell. Again, if I wasn't happy it would have gone back.

I went from a Sony CRT to Xerox to S2409W. I'm a happy bunny.

I've played on many bad screens (mum's screen) etc and for me, the Dell is perfect.

The next screen I'll be getting is a 120hz, but not for 3 years

Thanks bledd

I’ve pretty much spend every night this week looking at monitor reviews and I’m just going around in circles lol.

So what you have said does help.

At this moment......... I’ve got two on my list, the dell S2409W and the BenQ E2400HD. Both have what I’m after and at similar price. Although I see Overclockers don’t sell BenQ is there a reason for this, are they any good?

I'm no expert. Just saying my experience on the subject

One thing I'm yet to see though, is anyone not liking the S2409W (besides people who haven't used them and instantly write them off, just because they're a TN panel)

I couldn't tell the difference between the DGM 24" PVA panel and my S2409W (was borrowing the PVA from a friend on the same day I switched to the Dell)

That is a good point, I’ve not seen anyone complaining. Maybe the dell is the one for me :D.

Well it's here.

The box was pre-opened like pretty much all stuff I buy from OcUK!

But the monitor seems great, bloody huge lol, it has a couple of stuck pixels but I can hardly notice them!

Good so far :)

There is a little backlight bleed along the bottom of the screen. But it is a TN panel ;)

Need to calibrate it now, any tips?

It also has a slight scuff on the top bezel, this is where the wrapping wasn't in place during transit and it's rubbed on the polystyrere protection....

Good old OcUK with their pre opening and buggerng around with stock!
