Need a set of 2.0 or 2.1 speakers with digital input for Xbox360, and eventually PS4. Using a Sony 32W654 TV and in corner desk of bedroom so no room for 5.1 setups or a dedicated AV amp / bookshelf speakers. Also having massive amounts of bass is not a requirement as this is in a bedroom but I still like good sound.

I would like to have something with an optical or hdmi input as I did try my analog with my Corsair SP2500's (which I use on PC) using the xbox hdmi/av adaptor and there was signicant hissing which could be down to the xbox and also the dsp on the subwoofer.

Below are the options I have been looking at. All advice welcome. Thanks.

Boston Acoustics Soundware XS Digital Cinema.

Nice and tidy, supports bluetooth streaming of music from smartphone.
Only 1 digital input (optical).

Audyssey Media Speakers

2.0, digital input (optical), stylish (in my opinion), supposed to have great build quality. And relatively cheap compared to the Bostons. Some reports online about noisy amp causing hiss at low volumes.

Audio Engine A2 + Audio Engine D1 Dac

Nice compact speakers, and dac also has headphone amp as well as digital input (optical). Some great reviews though the usual complaints about lack of bass from small speaker.

Onkyo HTX-22HDX

Great reviews for this. I had these on loan about a year ago and really liked the sound. And of course as well as optical you have multiple hdmi inputs. Not sure how much lag the hdmi inputs would add if you hooked up your console. Also, I really hate the gloss finish on the speakers and amp. My mates was all scratched up from just normal careful cleaning.

here was my thoughts on the A2 http://www.head-fi.org/t/596060/audioengine-a2-review

from what ive seen id totally skip the Audessy things. the bostons should be okay but likely to be brash. id say ga with the AE or the onk. the A2 will be best for musical purity but the onk will be rather more bass capable, if you want huge thumping bass.

Thanks for that. I am definitely leaning towards the A2's. And add a D1 dac at a later stage.
