Best 2.1 system for music ~£100

I've tried both the Acoustic Energys and the Logitech Z2200s, which have since been replaced by the Z2300s http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-022-LG&groupid=702&catid=22&subcat=173

I had Acoustic Energys hooked up to my Mac and the Z2200s on the PC and I honestly think the Z2200s are much better, they produce better bass and go much louder whilst keeping very good clarity on tracks. There's not a lot of difference in the sound quality of both speakers but the bass is so much better on the 2200s.

pick up a second hand A1 and a second hand set of speakers for about £50 like the ones I have. (mission M71)

PC speakers are turd. I had megaworks 550 and they dont even compair to the cheapest amp and speaker setup

These are absolutely fantastic, and teeny weeny.

When you pick up the satellites you realise the difference between them and PC speakers.

I have various Logitech and Creative PC speakers and they're all rubbish in comparison. Though that said I've not tried the £200+ kit of either manufacturer but I presume at that price point proper hifi stuff becomes a far better option. Actually...I know it does....because I have one at home :D

No no they do make mid/high end speakers you probably got a budget set.
They also make very bad cheapo set.The bass on my eltax liberty 3+
is unbelievable.Which model did you get? must have been cheapo budget ones to have chucked in a skip i guess.
if eltax were bad hi fi specialists wouldnt stock them let alone sell them.

lol Richer Sounds aren't Hi-Fi specialists. Is that all you can say about the Eltax's, that the bass is great?

No they have a nice forward sounding mid and high too.
I'm not saying they are the bee's knees here just saying nothing wrong with them.Of course if you want very nice you have to spend a lot.Goes without saying.

Nothing wrong with eltax speakers no idea about their amps though.
I picked up a AVR-280 for about a ton. 50W of power to five speakers and 100W to the sub. At that price you can't go wrong. Some of the EQ modes are a bit rubbish but I've got it set up sounding nice.
