Best 2.5" 7200 RPM Laptop Hard Drive?

Hey,

Im looking for a 160 / 250GB 7200 RPM drive to replace what ive got at the moment.

Im not up to date with the laptop drive market, so what would you reccomend?

Is the "with free fall sensor" option worth it? Sounds really good in principle, but i wonder how effective it is in real life application.

Tbh i did it with my laptop and i wouldnt really recomend it as it drains more battery life and makes more heat, if you plugged in all the time tho i dont see why not. I would go with a seagate 7200.3 for the 5 year warrenty myself.

Im going to do some more research into this "free fall sensor" feature.

Western Digital also have a 5 year warranty by the way.

I went for the Scorpio Black.

It's been fine so far - no heat issues in my macbook.

well it really comes down to brand chioce and price then as there is a free fall sensor version of the 7200.3 drives

i have to agree with sri tbh, i think the seagates have a much better warrenty and are generally more reliable
