best 22" for < £160??

Hey im new to register here (been lurking for a while).

basically ill be getting about £160 to spend on a monitor in a week or so..

ive got my mind set on a Acer P223W

Is it any good? anybody got a better deal??

a bit off topic to vantorsen but did your Q6600 overclock fairly easily to 3ghz?

I recently got 1 but its still at 2.4...

freelancesam, yea rather easy to get to 3.0ghz, i dont even think i have needed a volt increase tbh.

yeah I can get to 3.26 easily, can't go any further cause of my ram only being PC5300, and it doesn't OC much being a 2x2GB set.

aah good, ill give it a go when i get a more reliable mobo. Dont want to risk it with asrock SKT-775 :rolleyes:

I just spent a couple of hundred on an iiyama e2201w, very pleased with it. I spent ages looking through the various models and was impressed with the cibox mentioned by vantorsen (though I would only have considered the 2201d which has dvi input). What put me off was the lack of information basically, particularly reliable information.

I think the Acer you mention has some contrast issues which is what ruled out that Acer (an some others of theirs too) for me.

It's funny you should say that because my C2201 has DVI, even though it's not supposed to.

That's probably Dynamic contrast ratio.

hmmm.. im guessing it wont be too bad.. I dont play any games, just do a lot audio editing.

if you are doing editing, might be worth going for 2 x 20" instead maybe?

i initially wanted two but i think i would prefer one big one with a high resolution. Also 2 good 19/20"s would be at least £200

20" are the same resolution as 22" though remember.

Do you use that monitor for gaming? I am considering picking one of them up but can find very little out about it. If so, what's it like?

Do you know if it allows you to use lower resolutions on it without scaling them up to fill the whole screen (1:1 pixel ratio I think it's called....)
