Hi chaps,

I know that you probbley get bored of hearing this question (I tried the search but still cannot make my mind up!)

I am thinking of the Samsung pebble but heard that the stands suck.

can someone write a list of good moniters? :)

I have the Samsung SM226BW, it's brilliant so far, excellent contrast and refresh rate.

Been playing a lot of Mass Effect on the 360, look excellent. So does TF2, even with my crappy graphics card.

I think the pebble and the one I have are essentially the same monitor, but the pebble has the LCD-TV styling, which I don't really like.

I came from a 19" CRT, so probably not the best person to be trusting, but it's probably the best purchase I've ever made.

I have just bought the CIBOX and it pwns over my old samsung 913N for clarity and brightness and depth...

Go for the Samsung 226BW - I was bitterly disappointed with ghosting on the LG 22", before RMAing it.

Was that the L226WTQ ? It seems to get decent reviews from what i've seen.
Probably because LG cherry pick monitors, and send them to reviewers.

In reality, I had very bad ghosting in games.

could have been a faulty monitor, or possible a different panel being used. i wouldnt write of the model if you had ghosting - the latest tn-film panels are know for there decent performance with regards to ghosting (or lack of) :)

I've since found the LG panel option in the service menu should be changed and it cures the ghosting....

The Pebbble is a great gaming monitor, if it didn't have the uneven backlight bleed. I agree with stand quality, not fixed properly, basically it's just friction holding it on (ball and socket joint) Also no height adjustment (just a bit high on my desk with raised monitor shelf) I have the Pebble, sent it back.

What about the 28" Only £430...seems a bit TGTBT. The 2ms? of the Samsung was really fluid, compared to my Philips 200W6CS 6ms?

thanks very much for the replys guys

I do agree with the above, I have a samsung 32 inch HDTV in the pebble style, even though the TV looks great, I think it looks a bit odd on my PC, and it will be weird having the same style PC \ Monitor in the same room I think!

Can someone tell me the diffirence of the Syncmaster and the Pebble? I am floating towards the Syncmaster ( Samsung SM226BW ) as I prefer the style!

the SM226BW and SM2232BW are the same really, just different designs :) Same specs and should be the same 2ms G2G Samsung TN Film panel in both (but i wont get into the "panel lottery" now :))

For the record, I opened up my Samsung last night - and discovered the panel is indeed Samsung.

how do you know if its a samsung panel
Because it says so on the LCD panel, after removing the back of the monitor, and lifting the metal shield.

This is mine, obviously with serial numbers, etc, made unviewable. ;)

As it happens, it's the same model as the one in this article. :)
