I’m losing my mind trying to find a replacement for my old monitor. Id like a 27” screen with good HDR for gaming but have been turned off the OLED ones due to also doing a lot of desktop work.

Any suggestions are welcome. Happy with 1440 or 4k

Have you actually tried using OLED for your text work ? I have been using 55" OLED as main monitor since 2019 for everything, and I cant complain.
Maybe it`s not as bad as you think it is?

define productivity, is that photo editing, writing code, scrubbing through video, banging on spreadsheets. what?

what time of day do you use computer? In bright daylight? Vampire like in the dark?

Be specific and we can help

I think hes referring to the text fringing on the LG WOLED panels.

In the 27 inch category there basically isn't any good alternative option. The LG or ASUS 27 OLED are pretty much best in class for HDR. I have the LG and i'm in love with it. Dead Island 2, RE4 Remake etc look incredible in HDR.

Text fringing is a thing but doesn't bother me at all. I installed Mactype which improved things a bit and theres already a big public push for MS to actually fix font rendering in Win11, as i'm sure they will one day.

If you want good HDR you gotta settle on these two, or a 30inch+ OLED panel. I'd suggest getting one of these and simply trying it out before writing it off entirely for the font rendering issue.

Thanks. Yea it was the fringing that was bothering me but I can probably ignore it. Also it was due to the wife planning on using it for desktop stuff. Maybe I’ll bite the bullet on the LG now it’s back in stock on their site. Hoping it’ll be back on OC soon
