Best 3d bluray?

Dredd 3D has some of the best 3D i've seen. It's combined brilliantly with crisp slow motion shots and an excellent soundtrack. Regardless of what anyone might think to the movie itself, visually it's one of the best 3D films out there.

Dredd's 3D is fairly subtle (best way for me) but I still find Avatar to be the best use of 3D so far as it has both very subtle 3D and some really amazing "in your face" bits too like the little white floating jellyfish on the massive tree.

Depends what you mean by 3d effects - some people mean 'pop out' but there are plenty of great 3D discs about now such as Avatar, mavity, Prometheus, Dredd, The Amazing Spiderman, Tintin, The Hobbit

For me the best use of 3D is for subtle background and depth, I hate the whole stuff flying out the screen at you, gets boring very quickly.

Glad you mentioned Nemo, Pigeon Killer, that is the disc I have lined up for my new 3D TV this weekend.

I am also expecting Avatar by the end of the week.

Dredd maybe not so much on the family viewing front!

Not sure what TV you've got but 3D glasses tend to dull the picture quite a lot which is far more apparent in bright films like animations so Dynamic picture setting, while avoidable 99% of the time, might actually help in this instance.

of the films i have seen

Probably avatar - rubbish story, but colours etc are amazing

it does work best on animation, makes sense really. designed for 3D

Tron was good too, in the cgi areas

Monster Vs Aliens (why do you think it was bundled with 3D TV's/players, showcases 3D well)
Drive angry is really good.
any of the 'IMAX' documentaries are worth a watch.
Flying Swords is a corker if you dont mind subtitles.
