Hi everyone.

Today my wonderful belkin wireless g router decided to pack up completely on me and my housemates :(

So im looking for a new Wireless router that has a 4 port hub built in. I want it to be very stable and not drop all the time. We all do a lot of file transferring, gaming, torrenting so would like something to accomodate these needs. Also has to have good settings that i can play with and tweak,

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Im looking for something around the £50-£70 mark, was looking at a linksys of some kind as ive heard very good things about them.

Thanks in advance.

Wonderful, Belkin? Thanks, I needed a laugh :)

I'd go for a Linksys WRT54GS. If you want more settings to play with, slap on a 3rd party firmware.

Seconded, got one just working as a wireless gateway. Sublime, lots of toys to play with too.

Yeah, ill 3rd that. Had mine up for over 1yr now. Works great.
I did flash the firmware to WRT but it didnt like it for some reason, the router had to be reset on a daily basis as it kept on loosing its connection.

Back to the latest linksys firmware now and all working fine.

I use a D-Link airplus G+ 624+ (lots of plusses) and the range/signal is great in my big ol house with thick walls. A linksys wireless G I have is consigned to the spare parts bin as the wireless range/strength on that is pitiful. Dropped connection, reconnect, dropped, reconnect etc etc all the time. Unless you were sat in the same room it wouldn't stay connected.

obviousy not a GS then. Mine ploughs through exterior walls with ease... also WPA2 and 125Mbit speedbooster means you get just as fast and secure wireless as when you plug into it.
In my experience Dlink are lacking in features and overpriced. Most of the GS's failings can be rectified by installing 3rd party firmware as it's linux based :)

Oh and my GF has one and she says it's cute, and calls it her "little robot". Says it all tbh.
