best 40mm cooling fans ?

Noctua NF-A4x20 with the low noise adapter?

This is the 12v PWM, there is also a 5v version and a 3-pin version:

Can't say what the noise is actually like as mine aren't installed in a quiet area.

Noctua fans are generally very highly regarded. I have them in all shapes and sizes and they're brilliant. If only they had RGB!!

The reason for the this post is to point out that they also do the fan linked to above in a slimmer model, so NF-A4x10 in all the above mentioned variants. I'm about to put 2 in a Meshlicious case.

@ OP what is it for?

I bought a little 80mm (PWM/USB) in a kind of mount/stand for my VM HUB4 the other day as running hot.

Should let it... If it dies well VM might start to supply better products.. my Hub is in ModemMode... only good use for it... They are not Super in any way I can see

True.. I have some of the Noctua 40mms (my mate gave me all his when he emigrated).... but would love to know if Hub4 is any good? My 350Mbit comes through Hub3 and it was so poor at WiFi I got a DD-WRT flashed TP Link Archer xxx router and put Hub in Modem mode....

EDIT: Googling seems to show MANY people saying Hub4 was a downgrade for them.. worse WiFi and worse DL speeds... Probably anecdotal but....

Worse WIFI than HUB3 which was worse then the SH2ac but needed in some area for certain tiers above certain speed due to the network upgrades (how many channels you connect to), definitely needed for 1Gb/s.

Depends how much airflow you need, but the Noiseblocker 40mms are good value if your airflow requirements are more modest:

The XM1 is rated at 4.9 m³ / 9dBA - £4.49
The XM2 is rated at 6.7 m³ / 14dBA - £4.49 (Similar airflow to Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX when using LNA, for 1/3 cost)

Above that the 20mm deep Noctua makes more sense
Noctua NF-A4x20 PWM at 9.4 m³ / 14.9 dBA - £13.99

Can vouch for the Noctua NF, i use to use 3 of those, 1 on my VRM's and 2 to cool down memory on my 3090. Ran really quiet despite its high rpm and size.
