Hi,

I want to purchase zee HD 4870 from ocuk

What is the best one to get?
as I hear they run Hot/Loud and I want a good cool/silent version.

I intend to upgrad my mild gaming PC.
The other PC has a 280gtx inside it.

Hi ,

I can recommend the VTX HD 4870 1GB , It comes with the Arctic cooling heat sink/fan solution. Is dead quiet and cool as ice.

Only down side is it's a 3 slot job but if you got the room this is the nuts......

I'd sell your 280 and just get a 5870 for your main gaming rig hehe, would be a nice upgrade. =P

Back on topic; I would probably suggest maybe going for the 4890.

You can get them currently at £135 which is competitively priced against the rather large amount of 4870's.

that is the cheapest worthwhile 4870 in stock at the moment, the asus card is good and as suggested the above vtx isn't too shabby either. Definitely don't bother with the xfx 512mb 4870, that isn't worth saving £20 on for the loss of memory.

Good luck and hope you get something you are happy with in the end.

Don't get the xfx 1gb it won't run particuarly cool or quiet, if you want something cheap get the vtx as suggested by cool breeze.
