Hey guys, so I am getting myself a laptop for gaming but it's not just for that. I just want a total package kind of thing that I can also game on, so want one of the 3080s.

Which laptops would you recommend?

I have watched so many videos but still unsure, I almost pulled the trigger on the XMG neo 15 but then saw there is also a neo 17 and just stopped to come on here and pick the brains of people that are more tech minded than myself :D

Legion 7 (3080)
Best gaming laptop of 2021.

I own the Legion 5 Pro (3070) and its the best I've tested - this is after 18 months of trying a dozen laptops with a budget of £2,700.00.
I would have got the Legion 7 but it wasn't in stock at the time.

The Legion 7 is a better, more expensive version of the 5 Pro. The 5 Pro is better value for money.

I went for the legion 7 with the 3080. Amazing machine, was able to upgrade the warranty to 4 years next day repair at home, with accidental damage for £200. My last laptop i had was alienware and it cost almost £400 for 2 years warranty and that didn't include accidental damage.

For the price as well, you'll get a huge chunk of change back out of £5k. It's puzzling how other manufacturers are charging so much compared to this.

Just curious, the Asus ROG Strix G733QS seems a good alternative? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...-ryzen-r9-5900hx-gaming-laptop-lt-2ge-as.html

Slightly bigger display, identical panel and resolution and twice the RAM. Is the main recommendation for the Legion over this down to the additional 8GB of GPU memory? The Asus is also currently £300 cheaper at the moment.

Whats important to check with laptop graphics cards is the power they're putting out. Not all laptop 3070/80's are equal. Not only does this 3080 only have 8gig vram but it's also a lowered powered card (115w vs the 150w version in the lenovo)
In the past they used to refer to them as max p or max q varients. Now you have to go digging to find the spec as it can be as low as 90w.
