best 600?

by 600s i meant ones that fit into the 600 category.

;)

it will be for racing but i was after opinions without that info in case something was overlooked.

the 675 is, funnily enough, one i was considering. a 749 would be nice but slow compared to an inline 4. 675 is something a bit 'different'. :)

If your looking for a 600 class bike with more torque and good agility then the 675 is the obvious choice. The 749's are just not quick enough to compete.

The 675 is very good and will be on par with the IL4 600's. There is also plenty of race support (bodywork, rearsets etc) for them due to the triumph triple challenge.

Suzuku sv650? My dad had one and loved it till he upgraded to a sv1000 which was a monster.

For racing its even more down on power than the Ducati 749. If overbored to 700cc (the most the linings can normally take) with hot cams and hi comp pistons you can get about 90bhp out of it.

It's a great bike and I raced one in the Minitwins class for 2 years but it's not a match for a 600. Surprisingly close to it though even in Minitwin spec with a stock engine . . . . :D

the RR is more popular but the trumpet the best all rounder although the new r6 has invaded supersport so just wanted ideas about relatively stock performance. i know what the rags say but i wanted real time performance. :)

Well in the Bemsee Stocksport 600 races this year the lap times at Brands Indy have been around 48s for the front runnners and 675's, R6's, ZXR600's and CBR600RR's have all hit those same times.

I honestly don't think you'd have any trouble being competitive on any of them, go for the one with the parts available which you can get cheapest.

Not so handy if your not Dani Pedrosa sized and your kness and elbows are hanging out when your trying to get tucked in!.
:D

Lol true but I'm only 5'6" so have no trouble getting right down behind the screen on the ducati when racing and thats even thinner than the 675.
