How does that compare to the XFX 7600GT XXX Edition? I know it's not available on OCUK atm, but it seems to be the highest clocked 7600gt on the market.

Got one of these puupies, overclocked to 610mhz core and 800ram - 3d mark 05 of 6590! The XXX as far I know is just a pre-overclocked version of the standard 7600GT.

Yeah they are factory overclocked with modded bios and speed binned GPU's.

Yeah looking at the stats mine is already 20 mhz higher on the CPU and the same as the RAM. Seems like a waste of money to go for the XXX.

OT

hey cob see you are from portrush.

I was there last week on a 3 day tour of north ireland man it was freezing. Still lovely part of the world

Must have been the coldest day in august i've ever spent and I come from Scotland :p

PS I have just ordered one of these GT jobbies got to love a nice card under 100 quid esp when we'll be DX10 next year.

leadtek 7600GT mine running at 645 core and 840 memory (won't go any further as slider won't go further :p

Edit: last time i ran 3D mark i scored a shave over 7100 marks, since then i added another :)

Hi there

Its a no contest option!

The BFG wins it hands down at just over £90 Inc. VAT.

Why would you pay over £40 more for an overclocked version of the cards that only going to offer say 5% extra performance and that advantage is removed as soon as you overclock the BFG anyway. :)

bfg doesnt win hands down for overclocking the leadtek 7600gt's are best then asus, either of the 2 will get you the best overclocking results, leadtek first tho =]

I aint saying the BFG wins hands down because it clocks great I am saying it wins down due to the price.

All the cards overclock similar and once all overclocked the difference will be minimal, say 2% so my view is why pay so much extra for such a small gain?

I've got a Galaxy 7600GT XXX one, it comes with the Zalman fan already on it. So far got 670/810.. getting 6673 3D marks in '05 can't do '06 cos my screen doesn't do 1024 vertical res. That's with the 4000+ at stock and 1GB of cheapo kingston ram.
This card has a jumper that you can change to volt mod it too, havn't tried that yet though. temps are 34C idle mid 50's full load (on gpu)

wasnt saying you were wrong just saying that the leadtek is best at overclocking, which is true. and when you overclock these cards show a veriety of results, some going to almost 700 core speed while others only just making 600, so im sure thats not 2% now is it, but then again that card saves you £20, so if your after saving a few bob then go for the bfg, if your not too concerned as the cards are all good value, then get a leadtek, ive seen em for just over £100, bargain.

Gibbo was talking about a 2% increase in performance, not in clockspeed. Why the smart-arse attitude?

Pre-overclocked cards are pointless IMO, as the point of overclocking is free performance, so paying a few ten pound notes for a speed-binned and pre-overclocked component is silly unless you are aiming to break a record. Just my opinion of course.

The BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT 256MB is probably the card i would get if buying one.

Though if he doesnt allready have a 7600GT, then he may also want to look at the Connect3D ATI Radeon X1800 XT 256MB instead. Offers a similar sort of high end performance to the 7600GT SLI pair & with their low price they have been selling like hotcakes. Should comfortably last you untill you want to buy a new card for DX10. I think this card would offer more value for money than a pair of the BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 7600 GT cards.
