Hey 8 Pack, been having a good do at your super pi competition. (been fun learning the limits) At present I have a set of kingston hyperX genesis 8GB 1600C9 modules fitted. (a KHX1600C9D3/4GX kit) From what i can find out, these 'should' use elpida BFSE IC's. I've taken it as far as i think it can go, topping out at 7-8-7-18-17-2T 1656MHz at 2V. (assuming i'm doing things right) These are the settings I was using for an earlier run. (just the ram voltage and timings above are different to the images)
My phenom 955 C2 seems to max out with the core at 4.1GHz (1.55-1.6V), NB at 2.9GHz (1.425V) and the gigabyte motherboard tops out with the FSB at 280mhz. I intend to move platform next year so I'd like the memory to be transferable. I'll most likely be looking at steamroller, but may go intel if things don't improve enough.
What would be best for me to be able to manage CL6/7 timings reliably around 16-1700mhz and still manage over 2000mhz with good timings when i come to upgrade?
