Hey guys,

I was looking at upgrading my 780 to a 980ti, what would you say is the best one and why? I'm looking for a gpu with a backplate that's either black or white and has a half decent factory overclock. I won't overclock at first but may after a month or so just to make sure the gpu is all good at stock speeds first.

I could afford one of the higher end cards like the EVGA Hybrid, but is it worth it? I would prefer to spend an extra £70 and be happy with what I get is all :)

Ah, is that because of the Nvidia announcement? Haven't read much about what it's supposed to cover

Something is likely to be announced, so you're looking at either a new and better option, or to substantial price drops.

Might be nothing as well, but still better to wait until later tonight :D

Yeah, I watched it :) I guess i'll still get one. I was wondering do you guys think the EVGA Hybrid is worth the extra? I do value low temps and a relatively quiet build, but not too fussed.

I think it's around £50-£60 more expensive when you take into account the £40 cashback

The hybrid cards are really nice, pretty much silent and cool whilst giving you top notch performance. Get a good one and you can clock it to 1500mhz+ too and it will still run cool and quiet.

I was either considering the Palit Super jetstream (as it matches my build colours) or the EVGA Hybrid. I was leaning towards the hybrid as I'd prefer to spend the extra money and get the best I can as opposed to cheaping out for the sake of £50 and regretting it

Also, another one I was looking at was the Inno3D hybrid, which is the same price as the EVGA hybrid. I see it has a slightly higher clock speed but what about reliability, temps and overclocking?

bought an evga sc at the end of last year. destroys everything I throw at it at 1440p 80+fps

I say if you want to play games now and need a card that kills everything, get it.

the only people who tell you to wait are the ones who constantly jump between top end cards. The 980ti is an amazing gaming card, it is perfect for vr, it'll suit all your needs for the next 3-4 years, period.

The main reason I want to upgrade is that although my 780 is great for 1080p some games need over the 3gb vram and I can see it's starting to get behind in certain games.

I'll probably end up getting a 1440p monitor in the next few months too and my 780 won't be able to run games at that resolution on ultra

yea id like to know which card to buy, I'm upgrading from a 780 ti, have a £500 voucher my gf bought me for Christmas and was saving it for pascal but gonna have to go with 980 ti now. Which is the best choice on here of all the 980 ti's?
