I plan to get broadband soon in a non cabled area so I need to get an all-in-one router/modem. I need some recommendations. I've been using the Linksys WRT54GS and have had no problems at all, are the Linksys ADSL routers just as good?

A lot of ISP's will now provide you with a wireless router free so may be worth seeing what you can get first. However If you are set on buying something then it all depends on what you want, do you need wifi ?, does it have to be draft 11n or are you not bothered ? Also some routers are considered to be more forgiving with poor line stats (something you won't know till you are up and running).

Provided you're happy with the WRT, a cheap(ish) ADSL router in bridge mode would leave you with something more or less identical to the setup with a cable modem you had (as far as connecting your router to it went).

Yep

I can vouch for the Linksys WAG354G ADSL Wireless Modem Router - its a real solid bit of kit (and looks much better that the older stuff too). I've put in many of these for clients and have yet to get a support issue where its this kit at fault. I also use one myself and its rock solid.

So in my experience, yes, the Linksys ADSL Routers are good.

Note that the one I mention above also has wireless so it may not be what you are looking for.
