Evening all,

Thread title says it all really.

Currently on Sky's connect package which is shocking for pings (gaming) paying £17 a month.

Live out in the sticks so no point recommending cable/LLU packages!

Looking for something of similar value but much improved ping's - can't be doing with 100ms when have had 20-35 stable on this address with Firefly in the past.

I realise that quality comes at a price; but if anyone can vouch for a provider which may match my needs that would be great.

Cheers in advance ;)

oh...and in terms of monthly allowances not a great deal of downloading will be done - so around 20gig should be plenty

If you can stretch to it Zen do 25Gb/month for £25, their service is certainly well worth the extra money in my experience.

There are also the enta resellers, though they seem to be a bit all over the place at the moment but for £20 a month you can get a 30Gb package with a 1 month contract so if its crap you can jump ship easily.

Realistically though your options are fairly limited, unless you can either afford to spend a bit more or don't mind a 12-18 month contract with some of the less reputable suppliers, though given how quickly a reasonable ISP can go down the tubes that is something personally I would avoid getting tied into.

as much as I dont like BT I'll recomend them for gaming as atlewaqst with there traffic management they never killed my 20-50 pings to uk/eu servers. The other alternative is a fixed 1mb or 2mb service with entanet for 20 quid unless your get a stable connection on the adslmax system this is the way to go. 30 gb of peak usage & 300 off peak.

Try Plusnet with there Pro package at £19.99 a month 15Gb allowance a month (8am-12Pm) then (Then 12pm-8am) unlimited free Downloads to ur hearts contents, they will guaranteed a lower ping/latency plus its only a 12 month contract

i certainly dont have any complaints, considering i was with AOHELL, 02/Be which is capping at peak hours..........very annoying if u game a lot

its the best i found so far on non LLU package.................

O2/Be* don't cap at all.

Maybe what Switfy means was they were getting a lot of congestion on his exchange at peak hours?

I have a line provided by Be* and whilst it can slow down some times there is certainly no traffic shaping or capping going on - most of the time is ploughs through downloads at 2.2MB/sec :)

I also have a line from Zen which I use for gaming, VoIP and VPN traffic as it is generally 99.9% consistent in its quality.
