My Netgear router/modem has given up on me, so I'll need to buy another modem.. I want something I can run DGTeam/Tomato on to allow me to tweak the settings, but which is the best? I am not bothered about G/N.. I am looking at getting a second hand DG834G as I know they are quite good.. Which version should I go for? 2/3/4/5? Any other modems I should consider?

Anything with a broadcom chipset.

DG834GT
DG834PN
DG834N-V1
DGN2000
DG834(G)-V1-V2
DG834(G)-V3
DG834(G)-V4
DG834GTB (Annex B)
DG834PNB (Annex B)
DGND3300-v2

Couldn't agree more, i have a DG834GT and the DGTeam firmware, it lets you get the most out of your connection, people having been syncing at 0 snr margin, giving them the most they can get out of their line.

Thanks guys.. I'll get myself a DG834GT. I am using the DGTeam firmware on my netgear at the moment so I know what it is capabable of. :)
