I think you might get away with it using a Thermalright VX, which I found to be better than the Megahalem.

TRUE black on my p6t dlx v2, essentially the same cooler as the VX
Prolimatech super mega.
The ultra allowed room for 12gb, however with the super mega it would be a bit tighter, the fan clip would be hitting the heatpipe of the first memmory stick. Both coolers are fine though if only running 6gb.

Ooooh, I do like the look of that super mega. Whats the performance like vs the vx?
I love thermalright stuff aswell tbh. So I guess it's between the VX or the super mega now. Can they both take 140mm fans and do they both come with sets of clips to fit 2x fans?

Performance is pretty good w3bbo,
Quick prime blast from earlier in the year.
With the colder weather the cpu is now running about 4-5c lower per core. Both come with dual fan clips, the super mega can use 140mm fans, unsure about the VX.

Just buy new heat spreaders for your ram they are cheap as chips on auction sites.It's no biggy is it just reattach the old ones if you ever need to rma.
Personally I'd stay away from coolers that require 2x fast 120mm fans way too noisy for my taste.
Get the silver arrow and just change your rams heat spreaders for a couple of quid.

No can do I'm afraid. The OCZ blades have some sort of epoxy holding the heatsinks to the modules 
. I killed a set while reviewing them but thankfully OCZ saw the funny side and set me a nice new kit which at £350 a throw (and no longer available because of the stupidly low yield of the IC's - CAS7@2000mhz T1) I don't intend killing them again! If I could I would just go with the Noctua even though I hate the fan colours.

Yeah i killed a Trident CAS 6 1600 2GB module while removing a spreader.. gutted was not the word.

I think the problem is that the heatsink itself would still coincide with the nearest RAM slot.
