What would you guys recommend as the best air cooling heatsink/fan for o/c'ing the Conroe Extreme, I was thinking of getting ThermalRight SI-120 and using it with a 120mm Panaflo @ 12v, I'm looking at getting the Conroe extreme to run @ 3.6,

Shame OcUK does'nt stock the LGA775 RM adapter for the Thermalright SI-120, as 775 boards are going to become quite popular now and you need the adapter otherwise it won't fit.

Suggest it in the product suggestions forum.

What are you using now? Anything that will cool the existing chips will have an easier time with Conroe. The Preslers (65nm) are running at about 10-20C less than the equivalent Smithfields (90nm) and I think the existing crop of coolers is plenty good enough.

I suspect the problem won't be cooling the processor, but the PWM controller. It is on every current Intel chipset board I've seen and I cannot see any reason why that will change with the Conroe compatible 975/965 chipsets as they have additional PWM controllers for the case fan headers.

I'm using the old xp-120 with a 120x38mm panaflo @ 12v, the thing is tho I'm gonna have to get a new heatsink/fan anyway as I've allready promised my old ram, cpu, m/b & xp-120 to a friend, and also I nearly broke my currunt m/b installing the xp-120 onto it, the clips are a real pain in the bum.

The Tuniq tower 120 looks really intresting, the only thing is the fan that comes with the tower 120 looks a bit loud, after having a good read the Scythe Ninja and a panaflo looks the best bet for me so far, Ive just read a review where they ran a p4 prescott @ 3.8 using this heatsink with no fan  , that was in a Antec P180 case so the 2 rear 120mm fans helped a lot.

What the quietest, decent performance socket 775 heatsink/fan?

Like I said above the Scythe Ninja looks the best bet, I'm gonna pair it with a Panaflo RB-4710JKL 120x25mm Fan, @ 7v it's rated at 65cfm (27dB), then if I really want to turn up the heat I can run that fan @ 12v which gives it a massive 115cfm (41dB), ok, @ 12v it's not exactly quite but for 115cfm 41dB is really not that bad compared to delta fans,

If your not looking to o/c then I would pair the Scythe Ninja with maybie a Scythe S-FLEX 1200RPM Ultra Quiet 120mm
