I'm thinking about building a new AM2 system however I don't know which motherboard to choose.

I will be using a 3800 X2 and I would lke to know which AM2 board will overclock best.

Abit Fatal1ty AN9 32X
Asus M2N32-SLi-DLX nForce 590 SLi
Gigabyte GA_M59SLi-S5 nForce 590
MSI K9N Diamond nForce 590 SLi

I'm currently leaning towards the Asus @ £140.94

There isn't a whole lot of information about am2 overclocks which is a shame, but assuming you go with corsair ram, the asus seems good (very picky on what ram works), although the msi isn't too bad either (don't trust abit or gigabyte any more).

Yeah theres a distinct lack of AM2 overclocking reviews. I guess it's because it's quite new and everybodies waiting for all the prices to drop.

I liked the look of the upcomming MSI but it's a bit more exspensive. The Asus is the cheapest and comes with a wireless card and arial which is nifty.

Was going to use G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5300 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit £117.44
Seems to be the cheapest 2 Gibibyte DDR2.

I have the Asus M2N-E and its very picky with ram, i can't run the ram i got at 667 it won't boot into windows G.Skill 2GB DDR2 LA PC2-5300 , not sure if all the range are like this.

There are a fair amount of people on Xtreme Systems running AM2 boards etc. Have a look over there.

Hmm only 290mhz. That certainly wont do. I'm going to be watercooling this and overclocking it so I might be needing a bit more than 290 though obviously not sure yet.

Was thinking about waiting anway cause the prices are all dropping so much at the moment.

dark4orz your last comment just swayed me I've been waiting for a DFI AM2 :D

I got the Geil Value set here, running fine at 667Mhz

Nice to know but am not changing my ram, i can run it in 667 speeds in single channel but not dual for some reason.
