Best film ive seen this week and a welcome return for Adam Sandler is 'The longest yard', probably the funniest film ive seen since Dodge Ball and Starsky and Hutch.
The worst but probably a big seller is 'Stealth', it is the cheesiest and hamiest film ive ever seen, it should never have been released at the cinama but rather gone straight to channel 4 late on a Sunday night. i mean its got some very cool actors but the story is just soooo 80s, its like a remake of Iron Eagle., even my 10 year old son who thinks 'Bullit proof monk' is the best ever film thought it was pants.
Before i get flamed i like a wide selection of films and this week i have loved SHREK 2 (seen 8 times all with my 8 year old girl and laughed my socks off every time), Fletch (if it was possible to wear out a DVD.....) and True Romance, my No1 film of all time.
Thank you

I was pleasantly surprised when i watched this the other night.

The special effects were top notch and it also has one of the sexiest women in the world in it (Jessica Biel). I don't think it was made to win oscars. It was meant to be pure entertainment. I think it achieved that.

I enjoyed it and i'm even considering buying it on DVD. :)

Behave, all it was missing was Steven Segal fighting Chuck Norris whilst hanging off the wing at Mk2. Why was it even called stealth? they flew during the day, The pilots consisted of a female, a good looking white bloke and a wise-cracking black bloke, if it was ever going to be credible then Will Smith would have played the part, on that note it was far far below ID4 and that came out years ago. If it had been released 10 years ago it wouyld have been ok but nowadays i think you need a bit more credability.

Maybe it's because i wasn't expecting much from the film?

I doubt the film would have worked if the actors were 3 middle aged ugly blokes! :p

Besides, in this PC world, how many films nowadays give you the opportunity to see the Russians and North Koreans get their backsides spanked?

Do you know what? I'm tempted to go and watch it again now just too aggravate you! ;)

You crack on mate, bear in mind that i watched it with my son and im a soldier so all i got was "dad is that possible" and i said "its only a film", he said "so is Black Hawk Down and you said that was realistic".
I had such high hopes for this film and i felt very let down.

My worst DVD of the week was Land of the Dead. Without trying to give too much away, the zombies are supposed to be getting smarter; remembering how to do things they used to do when they were alive. It basically stunk. The lead guy had less charisma than the lead zombie, the story was fairly diabolical and practically every bullet hit is done in CGI... and looks it. The ending was severely lacklustre and did no justice to the franchise. Pity really, as Dawn of the Dead (original) is one of my all time favourite movies.

The majority of my rentals are rated four, five and six ('watchable', 'liked it', 'loved it') out of seven. Land of the Dead gets a three ('didn't like it').

You cant beat 'Shawn of the dead' for a top zombie film.

I just bought and watched Stealth today seeing as it was 20% off in Tesco.

Pretty good film, kept me entertained for nearly 2 hours so I can't complain. I thought EDI was the best actor though so it doesn't say much for the rest considering he was a glowy metal football.

Had you seen the series beforehand? I thought the two together were very enjoyable. Great characters, good stories and pretty damn funny in parts too.

No, i've never seen the series. Its called Firefly isn't it?

Serenity was enjoyable enough but after a film i like to feel some sort of emotion. I just feel flat after warching this. The film is helped by the gorgeous actress who plays Inara Serra. I love Brazilians! :)

I may have to catch up with series episodes or is it pointless after having watched the film first?

Tonight I have been mainly watching a good film - and a terrible one.

I'll let you guess which is which but they were...

Armageddon
The Cannonball Run

Tommorow *errr - tonight...* I will be watching Clerks *the extended cut* and Mallrats *extended cut* for the umpteenth time. :D
