best andriod app that will let me txt a large group

I want to be able to text groups of people via SMS regarding clubs youth groups.

Anyone know a SMS app I can make groups with and then blitz out a text ?

That wont send an SMS though and it relies on people having it installed. Can't you just add multiple recipients to the SMS?

Would Hangouts work? Just add all the people to the group, then send the text. Make sure under settings -> SMS to untick MMS sending though.

Good point hyburnate. I've just got so used to the fact that everyone worth being in touch with uses whatsapp for me

yeah it needs to be SMS, i use whatsapp, but not everyone on the list by a long shot

group sms should work. how many people on the list? although i dont think theres a limit to the number of people you can add to the sms group

If you're managing contacts via Gmail (you should be on Android really, no excuse not to) then in whatever SMS app just click the contacts button and choose the group. Maybe set up a custom group in Gmail for SMS "Blitz"ing.

This group will also be visible to IM apps that now support SMS (Hangouts, for example).

Easy.

Hangouts. I have some groups created in Google contacts. But cant see a way to text them alll
