Best Android Camera Phone with SD Card

About to change my wife's Moto G9 Plus. She is adamant that the new phone must have an SD card (resistance is futile - trust me), but wants a better camera. I'm thinking a Samsung A55 is about the best option. Am I missing something?

Her current phone has 128Gb internal and a (50% full) 256GB SD card. Am I correct in saying that the A55 can support up to 1TB?

What budget are you looking at? My first thought was the Sony Xperia phones as they should have SD card support.

Looks like you are right, the A55 showing as supporting up to 1TB cards.
 
If course I should have mentioned the budget!

Around the £300 mark. The Xperia is out of my price bracket I'm afraid.
 
Thank you. Just checking I wasn't missing something glaringly obvious. I'm not as tied to an SD card and fancy a Pixel 8 Pro, especially if the price drops with the Pixel 9 out
