Looking at getting a tablet as 70% of my PC use could be done on one, as well as then being able to bring it with me.

Looking for Android preferably as I'm familiar with the OS.

Main uses:
Web Browsing
Video Playback
eComic Reading
Kindle Reading
Instant Messaging

Looking for something with a decent battery life, reliable build quality, and sub £200.

Enlighten me. :)

Im also potentially interested in this market. Pretty similar uses to the OP.

Only difference is that I'm spending a few days in Hong Kong towards the start of December, I figure things are generally a bit cheaper over there so thats when I'll be looking at getting one.

That Archos looks pretty cool, but I need others to shorlist

Wouldn't mind one of these tabs just to mess around on. something decent like the advent for under £250 sounds interesting, did a quick google and the Archos seems to have a weaker CPU.

Any other devices we should be aware of for under £250?

If your looking for anything more than a 4month stop gap wait or get ipad.
Android doesn't even official support tablets.
A lot of processors can't support flash on android 2.2, so check that out as well.

This is now on the Currys/PC World Websites at £249, not available for order yet but looks good, I'm considering buying one just to see if I like it cos I'm sure it would sell again easy enough if I don't like it.

I'd wait until Asus or the likes of them come out with one - it will be a few months, as they've said that they're not releasing until Android supports tablets (March or April, apparently), but I fully expect that they'll get their pricing right, as they do with laptops, and that they will be a decent quality. Will give you time to save up too ;)
