I need a good iPad/iPhone PDF app, which I can use to annotate and highlight text. I'd ideally like to have it so I can sync it across to my iPhone as well the same way iBooks does with bookmarking.

Any ideas? 'PDF reader' looks alright for 1.99. I'd download the lite version, but I'm having issues downloading it

Take a look in the iTunes App Store, I got a enolsoft PDF magic from there, and works great on the PDFs merge, split, reorder, insert and rotate.
But you could get the free trail version to have a try first.

I currently use adobe reader on my iPhone (as its free and I can download them off safari) but I don't know if it can annotate them

I copy my pdf textbooks and magazine to Dropbox on my desktop PC and open from the Dropbox app on my iPad2, you can view directly from there or open with another pdf reader or iBooks so you get a nice little book sitting on your shelf, works well for magazines in general too.

I have a 998mb pdf I want to be able to read on my iPad, I've put it in dropbox but when I try and open it (Connected to home wifi) it bombs out with a timeout error after a few moments?

Can I just drag and drop the PDF via iTunes?

Thanks

Mart

Yes. Drag it into the books sidebar menu of iTunes then check your iPad sync settings for books. You can view it in iBooks on our iPad then.
