Best AV for netbook?

I've just acquired my Dads old Samsung NC10 netbook, and was wondering what's the best free, least intrusive AV to install on it?

I've had a quick Google and it appears as though many are suggesting either MSE or Panda?

However many of these suggestions seem to be a bit out of date now.

Are these still considered to be the best bet for a slow old netbook? or have other products superseded them?

Get a cloud based antivirus. They're really low on resources and great for netbooks. Panda do a free one.

I use comodo on my nc10 and it seems to be less recourse hungry than MSE, especially if you set it to stateful

An alternative is to use Linux or osx as no av is needed if you really want ultimate speed from a netbook
