Best bang for buck on a £450-£550 laptop for browsing, media and some some gaming?

Hi all,

Is it possible someone could spec me a best bang for buck laptop for my bro for general browsing, some media and a "some" gaming? he hasnt got thousands to spend, but has a budget of between £450-£600 really, trying to keep it in the £480-£570 region though.

Want to try and stick with the reliable manufacturer's/brands if possible (HP, Dell etc)

Can anyone give me any heads up?
