I used to use Azureus, but I got sick of the system overhead it requires (My 2nd PC is a Hush with a lowly 1.2Ghz processor, but it's oh so quiet), I tend to use the machine for browsing, chatting and playing music/movies, which became difficult with Azureus running.

I then used bitcomet which got banned from many private trackers, then found μTorrent.
It's great, it's small, low overhead, and it does eveything I need it to.

that's how i found utorrent

was running a piii 500, 256mb as a file server + download box, az killed it, utorrent made it useable as a winamp and firefox box at the same time

zuse tbh, utorrent is AWFUL at connection to peers, i hate it, zuse (azureus) does it wonderfully, and if you have fast connection (i got Be* 24 meg) you want as many strong peer connections as possible which utorrent horribly does.

Strange that μTorrent is better for the rest of the internet

I used to be an Azureus user and I loved it. But it is slow to use and as I later discovered slow(er) at downloading too. I installed μTorrent and without changing a single setting apart from my upload limit I was maxing my connection, which was NTL 10mb at the time. A torrent had never done that before. Add that to the fact that it is rock solid stable and super-slick to use as well, with no Java crapness. I've never looked back.

If you have such a quick internet connection why waste it on silly torrent? How about always maxing it out, and never having to upload... Newsgroups are the way forward (not like they're actually new...)

When i do (rarely) use torrents uTorrent is my software of choice mind you...
