Hey guys

Whats the best torrent client out there for OSX?

I've always used uTorrent but obviously its not available for mac, so whats the next best thing in terms of lightweight and efficient?

Cheers :)

Remember to port forward and bump the number of "connections" per torrent to 500-1000 for best results.

If you aren't getting a green light in the preferences then you'll be going slooow.

I've been using Azureus for ages on Tiger but recently switched to Transmission which gives me the same transfer rates but uses less resources, it's like uTorrent but for OSX, dead easy to use too.

Azureus - safepeer plugin, encryption, speed scheduler, as extensible as firefox.

It's a bit bloaty but I am away from the Mac when it is torrenting generally.

Does transmission have these things? (genuine question)

I've said it once, and I'll say it again..

What do people want from a BitTorrent client? Genuine question.. Transmission runs super fine for me now that they've sorted the bugs, has encryption, and you don't have to fuss with a million settings when you configure it.

Tried the latest (1.06) build last night and downloaded 7 files in great time, no hassles, and it wasn't a hog :)

That said, Tomato Torrent is great, but it's been abandoned..

I use Transmission as well. I like how lightweight it is. Dunno if it's on any other clients but I also like how it doesn't let my machine sleep until the transfers are over. Setting it up with the energy settings in OSX = no more leaving it on overnight which I think is really cool :)
