Best Blogging SaaS / PaaS

Guys,

I'm pretty versed in Web design, although I haven't touched it for a while (last time I dabbled it was all about responsive web).

Anyway, I'm looking to create, but not necessarily manage, a blog site for a friend.

The requirements at a high level are:

Own domain name (no mysite.blogname.com)
Easily able to share to other social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Insta) even if just a photo and a link
Easy for the user to WYSIWYG their way through (create, edit, delete, share, add photo(s))
Own branding (nice big header, logo, etc)

There seem so many options and whilst I don't mind researching through them, I came to hopefully just get guided by you guys as to what might meet these requirements.

Yep, a themed Wordpress installation seems the easiest way to go.

.com or .org?

.org WordPress seems to allow the own domain functionality.

.com also allows for own domain at a cost
Different being is that .org is self-hosted (or third party hosting i.e. not Wordpress.com) and .com is all included in the monthly or yearly fee.

With Wordpress.com however you will quickly learn that it is not particularly flexible for anything besides a blog. .org is opensource and can do pretty much anything with enough experience in development. For a blog, .com is just fine.
